CamelBak H.A.W.G. 20L

rated 5 of 5 stars

This bag is reliable and strong. It hasn't ever let me down in all conditions and environments. Being able to be tossed about and hold large weight in the field it's a good allrounder for day excursions and overnight adventures.

Pros

  • 3 pockets for storage
  • plenty of loops for attachments
  • 2 tightening straps on either side
  • strong rip proof material
  • all straps are adjustable
  • resistant to all environments
  • simple to use

The bag overall is superb for any kind of 2/3 day excursion. It's a daysack that can hold a large amount of gear. I've used it for camping, hiking, and skiing and it's never let me down. Front pocket can hold a good amount of stuff (maps, pens, snacks) while the middle largest compartment can be used to store even more. I use a dry bag inside that is 15 litres. Back pocket can be used for a hydration bladder which saves space in the bag itself.

it is great for heavy loads and lightweight loads as well. All straps are adjustable on the bag, which is really useful giving it the advantage to fit on any torso, man or woman.

I've had the zips play up a few years ago, but I got them replaced and they haven't given any play since, bearing in mind the bag has been used daily for over 20 years.

I swear by this bag for all uses. As a 15-liter daysack it's proven the test of time again and again.

Background

Have had this bag for over 30 years. Used daily for hiking/camping and day to day. It's been used in all areas of the world from Middle East to Japan mountains. I've used it for lightweight camping setups and as a daysack for skiing.
