Version reviewed: 10' x 7' Model 9273-107

I do not camp out very often. This review page looks like one which considers high-end camping gear for professional outdoor enthusiasts. No doubt that experience in this area brings on a more keen eye for detail, ease of use, amenity and so on. I only am submitting this review because 2 nights ago, I was camping, mid-summer, in Iowa, in an area that was hit by heavy thunderstorms, wind and conditions afterwards which comprised about four hours of off and on downpours. I was with a group of 11 other tents, some new, some old. Only two tents stayed dry, and I mean dry. Three of the wet tents had excessive ground cloth spread (which undermines any tent in those conditions..why not pump water in from below, it's faster...) so they cannot be properly evaluated, however the occupants should be. The others leaked. The one tent besides mine that stayed completely dry was a $250 one-man model. It was very nice looking also.

I am not far enough into outdoor activity to purchase a designer tent, even though they look cool. But with this consumer model, yes with its cumbersome aesthetics and ridiculous logo, on this stormy night, I was kept dry. Take it for what it is worth. More later on durability aspects of this tent...much later, since I only camp once or twice a year.
