Columbia blew it ... and so did I by buying the Balistic Sweater. I tried to save a few bucks by not buying the TNF Denali Jacket ... now I find I can buy TNF jacket for the same price. THE PROBLEM -- Columbia lines the sleeves and the front of the jacket with a fabric that gets wet and stays wet. I used the jacket in Nov. to climb Mt. Washington ... I got wet and disappointed. North Face doesn't line the arms for sure and I believe they don't use much of this fabric liner in the rest of the jacket. I wrote an e-mail to Columbia, but they didn't even have the courtesy to respond......... BOOO!!!

Advice--Buy the Denali Jacket or a fleece without the arm and shoulder reinforcements if you need need something that breathes better!

I love my Columbia Ballistic Sweater. I have owned it for about a year now and it is perfect for my lifestyle. I have worn it hiking, around town, to football games, even at the office and it has been perfect in every setting (maybe a little too casual for work but I've had no complaints).

My girlfriend says the jacket is too short on my torso but I think it has more to do with this being considered a sweater not a jacket and thus the sizing is a little different. Bottom line is it's has been a great jacket for me and I plan on using it for much longer. I have not hiked a full mountain yet but when I do I bet I'll be bringing my Columbia Ballistic Sweater with me.
