Decent goatskin leather glove. Pretty warm from my usage. ( edited) Can't wait until this winter. Have only outside used them about a dozen times since purchased a year ago as well as car trips and regular winter wear.

Pros

  • Slim cut, but perfect L for me
  • Goatskin leather
  • Well made
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Snow cuff
  • Supple for dexterity
  • Not waterproof

Cons

  • Not real thick (good or bad)
  • Run small for some

Must say from the start that these fit better than my Mountain Equipment gloves that I reviewed. Look at reviews on Moosejaw and the Eddie Bauer sites if you decide on shopping for these.

The goatskin leather is probably on its way out in the next few years so I got these while returning a pair of pants my wife purchased. They fit me fine but some other reviews show them running small. My large were a perfect fit.

I put a small amount of mink oil on them last year before they ever went outside. They have been on winter hikes, snowblowing drive, shoveling, and a X-Country ski trip. After I'd guess a few dozen times I've worn them they still appear new. (edited. They still appear new after another year but in the -8f temps we had during December 2022 these weren't my best gloves. I was fine for about 30 minutes out before I found a couple of cold but not freezing fingers on each hand.

New they are $80, but I was in store for a sale and it's been over a year since I got them for $35 while doing an exchange. On a cold day with deep snow I gave a coworker an oversized pair of Thinsulate suede and nylon gloves last year that were cheap and these were to replace my in the trunk emergency gloves but these have become a "go-to" item, love them on a cold day.

For bad weather I have a pair of Hot Finger neoprene-lined waterproof gloves that are better for extreme cold but lack the dexterity of these. Not advertised as waterproof but I've never had an issue with wet hands in the one season.

I've had a lot of gloves, these seem pretty tough.
