SplashFlash LED Light

rated 5 of 5 stars I really like this light. It uses a single AAA battery. It is not much bigger than the battery. It has a diffused end, so it works well as a small lantern – not as bright as other lanterns, but actually pretty good for its size and 1 AAA battery. Since it has a a small caribiner attachmetn at the back, when hung, all the light goes down and to the sides i.e. no dark spot underneath And none of the light going up toward the top of the tent. I might leave behind my small LED lantern and use this… Full review

Jolt USB Mini Light

rated 2 of 5 stars eGear's Jolt USB Mini Light is a key chain size, USB rechargeable light with a decent beam. It has three modes: on, flash, and off. The hard plastic case may not hold with a fair amount of abuse. Why I bought this light:  This was a spur of the moment grab versus my more typical well thought out and researched buys.  I prefer lights with a commodity power source and attempting to stick with AA for my gear to reduce redundancy and weight.  This does mean making some sacrifices with weight and… Full review

Photon 3 Micro Light

rated 4.5 of 5 stars It's sturdy, light and practical. These mini lights by Photon should be the only unbreakable lights you consider for your camping. For those among us who enjoy minimalistic camping and outdoors pursuits, every gram counts. Even if you're not that concerned about weight, having compact items which WORK is a peace-of-mind thing. In a world where most Chinese-made items come with a guarantee — to — isn't it wonderful to find a rock solid product you know you can rely on. I've had one of these for… Full review

Focus Control 200

rated 3 of 5 stars A bright light for a low price, but you get about what you pay for. The focusing is limited and the light a bit uneven. The low setting is a bit too bright for tent life. The colored LEDs other than red are of limited utility for the outdoorsman. Good headlamps are a staple of life during the midwinter months here in Norway. I picked this light up at REI during a trip to the US nearly two years ago. The brightness/price ratio seemed worth a try. I have used it for morning runs in the dark, some… Full review

Jolt USB Mini Light

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Very cool, mini light. No batteries required! Update: February 17, 2011 Last month, I rated this eGear Jolt mini Llght and gave it 5 starts. It's a great light but don't use it on a key chain. The plastic screw on is flimsy and does not hold the light well. Mine unscrewed and is lost in the woods. I wish I could get a replacement.
