EMS LT -20

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

The LT -20 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best cold weather synthetic sleeping bags for 2024.

This bag is a little bit on the heavy side. But I needed a synthetic bag for wet conditions. It was on sale and a good bargain. So far I used the bag 3 three times in very cold weather and I must say the bag is very up to its temperature rating. The water-repellent finish kept the humudity in my tent at bay and I had very comfortable nights. The EMS LT is surely a good deal if your into serious winter mountaineering, otherwise don't even consider such a low rating bag...

Great bag but i dont think it lives up to its rating. I was overly hot in 30 degree nights, hot in the teens to sero degrees. But had to wear two pairs of poly and polartec pants along with my polartec jacket wrapped around my feet when it was -10 my feet were the only part of me cold. I would rate this bag as a -10 at the most. Besides that it is well constructed, high quality materials, love the way it feels and would recommend it.

A good bag but I agree with Matt, don't trust it for less than -10 unless your gonna wear some warm stuff while you sleep. It also had some problems breathing out moisture (usually wake up with the foot area damp and my socks totally dry). Regardless if your look to save a couple of bucks it is a great buy.
