I love tarps! But not this one. I bought this tarp for a thru hike of the AT. I liked the idea of the beaks at both ends and the lifters on the sides. About 50 miles into my hike there was this huge storm, strong wind, huge hail and torrential rain. I pitched the tarp really low to prevent rain from blowing in and prepared myself for the storm. That's when I found out it's too short. I'm 6'4 and I thought it would be long enough because of the beaks, but water, mud, and hail splashed me from both ends. I spent the night curled in the fetal position in a contracter trash bag. On a positive note it was not damaged, nor did it sag from the hail.

The other huge downside of this shelter is when you pitch it really low for a storm the beaks make it almost impossible to get out from under the tarp. You get totally soaked and muddy pealing yourself from underneath. I sold this baby fast to someone much shorter than me and bought an 8x10' tarp. Overall this would make a fantastic shelter for someone under 6'. the lifters on the side really help making space, it's easy to pitch and the quality is top notch.
