Mad Rock Safeguard (Springless)

photo: Mad Rock Safeguard (Springless) belay/rappel device
Backcountry.com says:
The Mad Rock Safeguard looks strikingly similar to Mad Rock's assisted braking Lifeguard belay device with the exception of a springless interior, making it more applicable for rescue and rigging work as well as climbing. A springless design increases the Safeguard's lock onto ropes to give you the extra confidence needed for rope solos, rescue work, or even standard belays. It shouldn't creep or slide down the rope like the spring-loaded Lifeguard or other assisted braking devices.
