It cost $10. What would you expect?

Pros

  • Low price
  • Very easy to control
  • Small, lightweight
  • Powerful
  • Decent plastic storage box
  • A Chinese family will live better if you buy it

Cons

  • Unknown service life
  • Low quality materials in the burner
  • Small burner focuses heat on small area, can burn food.

This is not a serious competitor for Optimus or MSR. However, for the price, it makes a great backup stove.

The pan support legs are a bit flimsy, but you don't want to use a big pot on this tiny stove anyway. The valve portion of the stove seems to be of better quality materials, too.

I am surprised at how well this stove performs but I don't think you should plan to walk the full AT with just this stove. But for $10 you can't go wrong. I put mine at the bottom of the small Coleman lidded pot (the two pot set), put a 100g canister on top of that, and had room for a Bic lighter. A tight little kit.
