This beacon worked amazing for my first few tests…
Rating:
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $300
Pros
- Easy switch from send to search
- Burial marking
- High quality
Cons
- Weight
- Safety leash attachment point breakage
This beacon worked amazing for my first few tests and practices. Intuitive arrows, large screen, the beacon itself feels manufactured of high grade plastic.
In my fourth practice session the safety leash broke out of the housing. This is a serious safety concern. A lost beacon could result in a lost life.

Welcome to Trailspace, Peter. Can you post a picture of the broken piece? I'm sure that would help our mountaineers and skiers.

Welcome to Trailspace, Peter. That broken leash could be a big problem. I'd also like to see a picture of how it broke. Have you had any service from Pieps?
