Old technology at times is great! Unnecessary improvisation is maybe profit driven.

Found these in a hiking consignment shop in new condition for very little. The decision to buy was because they fit me perfectly. All I can say is wow...tough, supportive, feature packed, pretty darn good looking as well....maybe a tad flashy, but I'll get them dirty quick enough.
Took them on a fairly rugged and rocky mountain today. Didn't even have to think about them on my feet. Quick inspection at home while cleaning and still look like new...now with mud.
