Just like everything in Salomon's QST collection, the Men's QST Charge MIPS Helmet has a backcountry-specific design for long tours on skis or a splitboard, and this MIPS model adds safety features to your backcountry quests. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) allows a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner when your head hits at an angle in order to decrease rotational forces, reducing potential damage to your brain. The EPS 40 foam protects your head more efficiently by absorbing oblique and vertical shocks. The QST Charge is as comfy as it is protective, especially in the backcountry. It's significantly lighter than Salomon's other helmets, and its removable liner is made of merino wool and moisture-wicking AdvancedDry fabrics for performance-oriented comfort. Merino wool excels in thermal regulation, and its natural anti-odor properties make a distinguishable difference when compared to your boot's liner. Salomon also added ventilation channels that you can close with the flip of two switches. This helmet also features an adjustable fit with a custom dial at the back of the helmet, and 3D Sound System ear pads let you slip audio speakers in.
