I did a lot of research before I bought this tent, and waited for it to go on sale at Campmor. I was pleased with my purchase when I set it up for the first time this past Saturday, because even though high winds and rain were expected, the tent literature promised that with proper staking and guy-out, the tent would stand up.

To make a long story short, the tent held up UNTIL one good gust at 6:00 a.m. this past Sunday. Then it folded like a cheap suit, the main pole snapping, and the jagged edges going right through the rainfly. To be fair, this was a spring storm that was particularly vicious, with gusts up to 60mph. Still, I had been led to believe the tent could withstand that.

I am currently speaking with the warranty and repair people at Sierra Designs, and they're being very helpful, but turnaround time is two weeks and I had wanted to do some hiking next week. I will post an update on how I fared with the warranty folks at SD.
