photo: SOG Super SOG Bowie fixed-blade knife

Hello,

I bought my awesome Brand New SOG Super Bowie knife (paid a hefty price for it, too) about 2 weeks ago. I bought it off of Ebay and bought it brand new.  When it arrived and I unboxed it, it was boxed and packaged very professionally and as if extreme care was used by SOG.

The knife is massive and definitely a must-have.  The blade came incredibly sharp and with an awesome, very shiny wear-resistant coating! Just from handling the SOG Super Bowie, and looking at it, you can tell that is is built extremely sturdy and rugged. It is very weighty around the handle.  The blade's point is needle-type super sharp!

I absolutely love my SOG Super Bowie knife, and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone 18 and over, and to others as long as they are supervised by an adult. This knife is definitely no toy and is not to be played with or toyed around with. Using this knife carelessly or playing around with it could very easily result in severe injury, maiming, and/or even death! Even adults should use this knife with extreme caution.

Now, I want to share with you this story and the awesomness and very outgoingness of Todd over at SOG.  When buying a sheathed knife, only the knife is covered under the warranty. Any accessory, including the sheath, is not coveredunder the warranty under any circumstances..

Anyway, about a day of receiving my Super Bowie knife and owning it, I noticed that the sheath was coming apart at the edge where it is sewed together. Anyway, the stitching was apparently very loose and eventually came all the way out in some areas.  I stitched it back together so that it would hold a little bit, and then i contacted the Ebay store I bought it from.  They wanted me to return the whole knife and everything, and then they would send me a rreplacement sheath back along with the knife. I thought this sounded very fishy for them to want me to send the knife Also.  I refused to, and they then refused to replace the sheath.

Anyway, I contacted SOG's Warranty Dept. who was more than willing to replace the sheath with a  brand new one but they needed the faulty sheath sent to them first. I had a big camping trip coming up which is mainly why I bought the Super Bowie; to take it with me.  Anyway, I explained that I needed to keep the faulty sheath just in case the new one didn't arrive to me in time.  They replied and said they really had to get the one from me first. I totally understood their procedures and policies here, and even though it wasn't what I needed, they were awesome with understanding and compassion.

Then I contacted Todd at SOG, whom I had contacted before on an unrelated issue and had saved his email address. I explained to him via email about my circumstances, and Todd jumped on the issue right away and said that he would be sending out a new replacement sheath ASAP! I knew he  is a busy man, so I was patient and waited.

Then a few days later he emailed me and apologized for the delay, and that one was on its way to me and I should have it in time for my trip. I offered to return the faulty one, which can really be fixed and good as new eith the right sewing thread.  But Todd told me to just keep it as a spare. I got the new replacement sheath via mail today.

I have to tell you that No Other Knife company would have done this and went out of their way like this.  Even with an unrelated issue, they guy at the Warranty Dept. at SOG bought a replacement part for a different sheath that I had accidentally messed up, and he paid for the replacement part out of his own pocket, pad even for it to be shipped to me, and the part totally fixed my other sheath for my other SOG knife.

Both instances proved to me that SOG knives are more than just a knife making company!  They really go out of their way to make sure that every one of their customers is satisfied. I give Todd and the Warranty Dept. and the whole SOG Company 2 full thumbs up for quality, outgoingness, carind, and understanding!

It just doesn't get any better with treatment of customers than SOG has proven and given to me!  SOG sure has my business from now on and for many more years to come!  It is SOG with me all the way!!
