The Primero 70 is a great minimalist pack. I just returned from a week in Olympic National Park in the 7 lakes/High Divide area, and the pack performed flawlessly.

It is very comfortable and lightweight, the waterproof top and bottom are a great addition to the pack and it rides well with up to 45 pounds, although that is about its max.

It is short on pockets which is about its only drawback, but I have aftermarket side pouches that strap on if extra space is needed. With its sleek design it also works well for climbing.

Design: top and side loading
Size: 70
Number of Pockets: 3 - top, sleeping bag, and small stuff on center
Max. Load Carried: 45
Height of Owner: 5' 11"
Price Paid: $249

Used on a five-day hike in sand, heat and rain. Performed really well.

Pros

  • Adjustments available for your fit
  • Comfort
  • Weather resistant nature
  • Material is durable

Cons

  • Pocket on the waist strap could've been a little larger
  • Areas to clip to shoulder straps would have also been nice.

Extremely comfortable once I figured out all the adjustments of which there are many. Nothing inside my pack remotely wet after a full day in showers of rain; which I was really stoked about. Heaps of stick scraping had me worried but no fabric issues whatsoever after many branch scratches.

North Face really hit a homer with this pack. The pack is very light and comfortable; but can handle 35 -45 lbs. with ease.

This pack is also very weather proof; believe it! On a 7-day trip to the Maroon Bells, Snomass Wilderness in Colorado I really put this pack to the test and it worked great. Thumb loops for zippers, top, side & bottom access to pack is also a plus. A lot of neat features- too-many to list.

I have always been an external frame guy until I tried this pack on. The lack of exterior pockets which I hate; is overshadowed by its lightweight and comfort. This pack will make you a believer!!

It's a very good, but light and minimalist backpack, whit a very good fit. The waterproof top and bottom is very interesting, which will keep your gear dry, guaranteed!

But remember the minimalist aspect of this pack, and try to keep the weight of your load under 30 pounds! Otherwise the pack will become uncomfortable.
