Zeal Cascade
Exceptional clarity through the Polarized lens makes these glasses work well when bombing down a single track or strolling down a trail. If you have an aversion to plastic, then the Zeal plant-based resin frames should make you smile. Great fit and style.
Pros
- Polarized lens
- Resin frames
- They stay in place
- Pretty indestructible
- Very lightweight
Cons
- Only three colors
These are one of the best pairs of sunglasses I own, and I have quite a few pairs. The frames made from a plant-based resin are injected with a rubberised material in the center of the frame, the nose piece, and the ear buds. Zeal calls this material Proflex and it gives the nose piece and ear buds great traction for a nice secure fit. The material down the center of the frame makes it very flexible and easy to grasp.
It seems almost indestructible as I have dropped them numerous times and they easily absorb the contact without cracking. The Cascades have a screw pin hinge that has a nice detent which holds in open or closed. I have the Primer Black frames with a dark grey lens, although to me the frames have a bluish hue.
They are meant to fit medium to large heads and they fit mine really well. Weighing in at just one ounce these sunglasses can barely be felt when worn and are super comfortable. The lens which uses a plant-based bonding agent and offers protection from UVA,B,C and HEV light. Wearing them all day in the bright sun my eyes feel fresh and protected.
They are a great looking pair of sunglasses.
