L.L.Bean Men's Weather Challenger 3-in-1 Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Nice jacket. Perfect for western New York winters. I like the jacket but I wish it was a little heavier, but all in all it’s a pretty good jacket. It is one of the better 3-in-1’s on the market. Full review

Columbia Men's Titanium Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars Great waterproof shell, stood up to 40+ mph driving sleet and snow. It never became wet inside the jacket after four hours in those elements. The Columbia Titanium shell I bought looks brand new. It was just missing a fleece or quilted zip-in jacket, but I looked around for something warmer to zip into the shell if possible because you have to match up the zipper teeth and that's a task unto itself. Even other Columbia fleece jackets I found wouldn't work with that shell until I found a North Face… Full review

Marmot Women's Featherless Component Jacket

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Not a good outdoors (wo)man's coat. I like three-in-one jackets. It's cold enough to need a winter coat where I live, but often wet and sloppy. And hiking and biking, I like just the outer coat as a sturdy windbreaker. And someone stole the shell to my old coat, and I needed one in a hurry, and I got this as the best available. But it's not very good. It is nowhere near as good as the one it replaced (house brand of an outdoor retailer) and certainly not better in quality—and less good in design… Full review

Columbia Men's Bugaboo Interchange Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars It really is great jacket. I have been wearing it for seven years and can still proudly wear it. It is quite warm and comfortable, worth buying. I'm using it for hiking, as well as for skiing. I recommend this jacket to you. Full review

L.L.Bean Men's Weather Challenger 3-in-1 Jacket

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Good waterproof casual jacket. Not made to be skied in or for other technical use. Product best for wearing as a casual jacket. Excellent waterproofing. Not very breathable, but does have pit zips to dump heat. Not good for layering as inner puffer jacket layer is tight fitting and outer shell layer is large. Outer shell layer is too bulky and allows for gaps to form/puffs out around stomach. This made it ineffective for skiing in Maine. Insulation is not very good (I live in Maine with 30 to sub… Full review

Craghoppers Men's 364 3-in-1 Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Longer-length rain jacket with zipped-in synthetic insulating jacket. The outer jacket is not suitable for hiking, but the inner on its own is. I was surprised to find the Craghoppers 364 3-in-1 jacket listed on Trailspace because I would not consider it a hiking jacket. It is made of a stiff polycotton canvas, meaning that it is bulky and heavy even without the inner insulated jacket. Furthermore the hood is the urban variety, adjustable to some extent thanks to waxed cords on the front and a tab… Full review

ZeroXposur 3-in-1 Jacket

rated 1 of 5 stars The hood is a total POS. It doesn't stay attached to the coat. When it does, it doesn't close properly. If the hood was any good, I might give it 4 stars. However, "Zero Exposure" only applies to headless people. Full review

Marmot Bastione Component Jacket

rated 4 of 5 stars Well made, warm, waterproof. I'm 6'4" with a 35-36" sleeve length and bought an XL size of this coat. Great fit, sleeves come down past my wrists. The liner is snug (perfect) when worn separately, the coat has a little more room for layering when the liner is zipped in.   I've worn this coat in the rain and the waterproofing worked well, and I've worn it in windy, cold conditions. I'm cold natured and while I would say this is a warm coat, it's not a substitute for 850 fill down. Probably best… Full review

The North Face Men's Mountain Light Triclimate Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Very practical. It's the perfect coat for any situation. The down jacket is worn all the time, and when you need an extra protection against cold and rain / snow, just put on the Gore-tex outer shell. If you feel like putting on a larger hoodie, you can simply put on only the shell. Feels great. Full review
