Dana Design Racer X

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

Dana Design is no longer in business, and the Racer X has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best daypacks for 2025.

Excellent quality and extremely lightweight. I used in 50-mile adventure race and it was like an extension of my body. Lots of compression straps and adjustments. Hip pouches on the waist belt as well. It is a little confusing to get set up. Should come with some instructions or diagrams to understand how it all works, but a backpack with a dry bag integrated as the main storage is awesome for any multisport racing. It does have a spot for bladder and it has a very light internal wire frame.

It is a cross of a lot of different backpacks, in one very well designed package. It has stood up very well for me and I do a lot of mountain biking (mostly single track, so the pack has taken a lot of spills on rough terrain) and no signs of wear so far. I would highly recommend this pack.
