An excellent choice for a three-season mid layer or shell. The DWR lets water roll off the fabric, but don't mistake it for a rain shell. It will give you 10-20 min of staying dry in rain though. Although new, my past experience with poly-spandex blends is a long lasting abrasion resistant jacket. Awesome jacket for the price.

Update: December 21, 2007

This jacket is a great value for a softshell. The polyester and spandex fabric offers great mobility and wind protection. Although the jacket has a DWR treatment I found it to be less than adequate for anything more than a light drizzle after a few months of use (the finish wore away) but I'll just have to re-treat it.

I find myself often using this jacket for rock climbing in the spring and fall because it doesn't hold me back and it's dealt with a lot of scrapes on rock and it still looks like new. I would recommend this jacket to anyone on a budget but if you have more money to spend there are plenty of other jackets that will perform better.
