Herman Survivor Tracker

rated 3.0 of 5 stars

The Survivor Tracker has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best footwear for 2024.

Worst boot I ever bought. Would never buy any footwear from Walmart again.

Pros

  • Look good

Cons

  • Sole separation within days.
  • Walmart will not take them back. Even with receipt "I misused them" apparently.
  • My first pair ever bought 28 years ago, just tossed them about three years ago, had them resoled twice.

First pair of Survivors I bought 28 years ago, came apart within weeks; store gave me a new pair and I had till just a bit ago. Had them resoled two times over the years.

I usually buy Chippewa or Rocky $150 and up — get what you pay for. These Hermans I bought at Walmart were $75 about three years ago, thought they would be good. They were touted as a hunting boot, not a work boot as customer service stated, like I used them to scale telephone poles or??

Bottom line is Walmart KNOWS they are selling crap!! Time for a lawsuit, class-action I would think. Myself I was injured when my soles separated on top of a fallen tree, down I went puncturing my right palm through gloves and scratching my cheek, 1/2" from my right eye.

Walmart wants us "to buy American", well then SELL American you JACKHOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!

These boots, model 5395437, are by far the best I've had for cold and wet conditions and keep your feet warm and dry. If worn in normal temperatures and mildly cold conditions your feet might get too hot after while. They are very light weight and comfortable, yet rugged.

Although 10 or 12 years old, they are not worn out but the soles is coming off, so i will attempt to reglue them. All the stitching and eyelets, etc. are good. I got them at Walmart and have been looking for more pairs for my teenage boys ever since.

They are 9 " tall from the top of the sole, have man made, cameo uppers except the leather at the eyelets and have the following materials labels: Thinsulate ultra, Waterproof Aquashield, COR DURA. They have "Am-Tech sole technology" inserts.

If anyone knows where to get more of these, please tell me.

Materials: Thinsulate ultra, Aquashield waterproof, COR DURA, manmade material except Leather trim
Price Paid: $30

The "waterproof" feature is not valid - they leak.

Price Paid: $49.95
