Meindl Burma Pro GTX

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Burma Pro GTX is a men's mid-mountain walking boot designed by Meindl. It's a long distance hiking boot capable of basic mountaineering routes in summer and winter conditions. Having described these as one of my favourite bits of kit in my Reviewer of the Month article I thought I had better do them justice with a review. Germans certainly know how to make boots  (I also owned pair of HanWag mountaineering boots and they saved a trip to the Alps). I have walked for hundreds of miles in these… Full review

Salomon Men's X Ultra Mid 3 Aero

rated 5 of 5 stars The Salomon X Ultra Mid 3 Aero's are my "tweeners." They perfectly fill the gap between my low-top Salomon X Ultra 3 and my Salomon Quest 4D 3 GTX hiking/backpacking footwear. Featherlight, cushiony comfort, wraparound support and Gecko-like grip make these my favorite for hiking and backpacking when pack weights are 35 lbs. or less.                                             Salomon X Ultra Mid 3 Aero   I should add the disclaimer that I own a vast number of hiking shoes… Full review

Lowa Men's Renegade GTX Mid

rated 1.5 of 5 stars Not what they used to be. Unfortunately within two or three years, three pairs of Renegade Lowa GTX (two Mids and one Lo), have had their Vibram soles detach and disintegrate long before anything else on the shoe/boot showed any signs of wear. The soles had wonderful tread left, the stitching was excellent, and the interior showed no signs of rubbing-type wear. For the relatively high price one pays for Lowas and the relatively light use over two or three years this brand is no longer worth it. Full review

Danner Women's Pronghorn 8"

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Used these for two elk hunts and numerous deer hunts. Put on a lot of miles! Would recommend for support and comfort. Tough made. Fairly good in wet conditions. Full review

Lowa Camino GTX

rated 5 of 5 stars I’ve found the Lowa Camino GTX to be sturdy, comfortable boots good for use on the toughest terrain. The Flex lacing system allows you to tailor the fit however you want it. Excellent support is provided by a firm midsole and thick leather uppers. The Vibram AppTrail sole gives excellent traction on most surfaces. Over Labor Day weekend of 2017 I went to the closest REI to replace my Asolo Fugitive GTX that had become too worn out for use in rough terrain. I decided I might as well try on some… Full review

Keen Men's Gypsum II Waterproof Mid

rated 1 of 5 stars I will not recommend it for hiking if you dislike having wet feet at the end of the day. These boots are looking good, but totally unsuitable for traveling or hiking, not best choice for wearing everyday way. The biggest disadvantage is ability to breathe. They just don't breathe at all. I tried my brand new boots three days ago and after three hours of waking in park my legs were wet, not little bit but socks full of water and boot's inner was also wet inside. Right now it is 4-7 celsious degree,… Full review

Timberland Men's White Ledge Mid Waterproof

rated 5 of 5 stars This boot is perfect for the outdoors and heavy-duty. The weight alone is quality. Love the finish and attention to detail with these. I want to rough these up to see the durability in the wild. Timberland has been a top notch brand for years and years. This is just another gem in the collection. Comfort level on this is up there. The weight of these while walking is something you can get used to. Any terrain works well with these boots. Water glides off these shoes which is good. These boots will… Full review

Under Armour Newell Ridge Reactor

rated 3.5 of 5 stars I have used these boots in hiking two summers and have worn them outside working at a ski resort in NE Utah for two winters. They are waterproof! Have held up very well. Tread shows some wear, but overall they still provide good traction. There is cracking at the area above the tread between the first and second eyelet. Boot performs well in all areas. I would recommend it. When I bought the boot there were no reviews so that is why I selected this product for a review. Hiking boots were new to… Full review

Cushe Tammerack WP

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Very comfortable, great quality. Great boots, I bought these lightly used online at a great price so I didn't expect much. Boy was I surprised! These boots are super comfortable and great quality. I wear them all the time in the fall/ winter, not just when I'm hiking. Full review
