Brede Jacket

rated 3 of 5 stars Hard shell for heavy use during autumn-winter-spring. If you don't mind the bits that fall off and want a jacket for many years, this might do the job. Fimbul Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars Great jacket!! Four large pockets, a very good hood, and reinforcments in kevlar. There are zippers on the downside of the arms if you need to ventilate. The fabric is quite silent and very resilient. It "breathes" 10% better than Gore-Tex. Me, myself, I don't know, it breathes that's for sure. Suitable for really rough weather. Full review

Firn Jacket

rated 5 of 5 stars This is a superb jacket handmade in Umeå, Sweden. I have used this jacket on several expeditions both in varm and very cold climate. It has many innovations such as the extra fabric in the armpit to prevent the jacket following when you raise your arms. A great hood, designed as a cone, makes those chilly winds stay outside.
