Backcountry.com says:
We all wish we could have a ski for each snowy condition. Luckily for our finances, the La Sportiva Women's GTS Alpine Touring Ski handles powder days in the backcountry and hardpack days on the skintrack. With a midfat waist and a superlight weight, the GTS can bag big powdery peaks and drop down wind-crusted crunch for a versatile performance. A traditional camber profile gives you stability on hard and variable snow and provides supreme edge hold while at speed. La Sportiva's Fusion ABS sidewalls work with the lightweight tri-axial and bi-axial fiber laminates to keep the GTS stiff on speedy descents, and a softer tip and tail allow for easy cruising through deeper snow. The lightweight Karuba wood core gives a poppy ride when you're bouncing down steep snowy sides. La Sportiva also equipped the GTS with a fast and durable P-Tex 2000 sintered base with 1. 8mm steel edges and rubber reinforcements at the tip and tail for a smooth ride that won't buck you like a bronco. This ski also has a plate under the binding mount for a secure connection between binding and ski. The GTS is compatible with La Sportiva's pre-cut HiGlide skins. A slightly longer radius makes this ski specifically ideal for steep terrain where side slipping and jump turns are in order. La Sportiva designed the GTS with a flex patter and adjusted sidecut engineered just for women.
