Luxe Outdoor Bat Wing 500s

This is a large 16 by 16 tarp. Cut very much like MOSS and MSR tarps to help it handle the wind (I have both the big MSR tarps (ala MOSS).

Besides the price what makes this tarp special is one side is black one side aluminized (reflects the heck out of the heat from the sun). So besides being a great rain tarp it is A MUST have if you camp in hot places. Much cooler underneath, pretty amazing. I fish off shore on the very south tip of Texas (great fishing) but HOT HOT HOT when the fishing great so a couple of these will be packed in the boat from now on.

The other advantage I've found if you turn them ALUM side down at night your lantern will really light up an area for eating or hanging out, confuses the hll out of the bugs also, just sit slightly away from the tarp. Plenty of light but bugs will be dazzled by the huge lighted area. Nicely made, superior guy lines go into their own little pockets.

Can be ordered with option poles something needed for beach camping but I didn't get any as I have several sets of Moss & MSR poles. These folks make sand stakes also, very much like the German sand & snow stakes I have a set of. So something to ask for if you're beach camping. AMAZING DIFFERENCE in temp under this tarp compared to other I have.

This is a great tarp/shelter. I have the Columbia Frosty Ridge tent I set up under the Bat Wing. It is great.

I am completely covered from the rain and wind. I can cook under it with no problems. I was just out the other night and it rained buckets. It was nice sitting under the wing completely dry listening to the rain.

It has a reflective side for when it's hot out. Keeps you cooler than just a regular tarp, and when it's cold put up the dark side to be warmer underneath. It has built-in pockets for the tie down ropes. The ropes, tension adjusters, and the wing itself are all high quality. Nice carry pouch and stake bag.

This will be my setup for years to come.
