This was by far the most luxurious tasting meal to have on the trail! Tastes like home cooking! Flavor of "marinated roasted chicken with fresh herbs and spices in a rich creamy sauce with white cheddar dumplings, sauteed, carrots, and green beans, and finished with fresh parsley." The most comforting meal I have ever had on trail!
Easy to prepare. Just add boiling water, stir, and let it sit for a total of 15 minutes. Come back and enjoy!
So satisfying and filling meal, especially after hiking all day.
Provided plenty of protein, carbs, and calories.
The packaging was a little bulky due to the fact that we were carrying seven days of food in our bear vaults. So I transferred most of my meals to ziplock bags.
This meal is best for any kind of trip that one is bringing freeze-dried meals: camping, backpacking, bike camping, boating, climbing, etc.
We love this entree so much, we had it three times for dinner on our eight-day backpacking trip.
After putting in the miles and a couple thousand feet in elevation gain, this is a huge reward for dinner. Pinnacle Foods makes the most satisfying gourmet meals for the trail. Having an amazing meal after a hard day on the trail is like adding the star to the top of your Christmas tree! Why end an amazing day of adventure hiking with a typical boring tasteless freeze dried meal, when you can treat yourself to a truly tasty gourmet meal that taps into all your senses while eating it!
Don't let your adventure end at the end of your miles each day, eat this dinner and your adventure keeps going! You will be dreaming about it at night ;)
