This is a lightweight jacket, not too warm.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Variety of colors
  • Great for urban hikes/walks

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Losing feathers a bit
  • Not good for rainy days
  • Warm but not for expeditions

Rab Women's Microlight Alpine

This is good looking jacket with slim fit. It is not bulky and has a great cut. There are two front pockets and one top pocket, but there are no other inner pockets. The sleeves do not have any tighteners. There is a good variety of colors available in this jacket.

I have worn this in urban settings and it is warm enough. However it is not great in a rainy climate, but even after a walk in the rain it does dry up fast enough. I have worn it in around 30°F and it has been okay with another inner warm layer. This jacket will not keep you warm in very cold weather and you will need layers within.

It does lose feathers (as it is Down) but not too much to be a concern. The price of around $200 is a bit too much for average warmth.

Experience

I have had it for over 1.5 years, mostly within the city. Used it for long walks (in wet rainy Seattle weather) and in temperatures of 30°F. I have used other jackets like Eddie Bauer and Columbia.
