This little beauty can be scrunched up small enough to fit into almost any pocket. Does a nice job of keeping out the wind chill factor.
- Ultra lightweight
- Packs in its own pocket
- Keeps out the wind
- Fabric is very thin
I've had this ultra lightweight wind jacket for some time, but only in the last month has the weather been cold and windy enough to use it. The Cyclon jacket is constructed of 100% 20 denier Nylon with a DWR (durable water repellent) coating to make it wind resistant.
Weighing only 4 3/4 ounces the jacket can be rolled into such a small size that I can stow in just about any pocket. If I am going for a hike I just toss into my daypack or put in the pocket of a vest. When I head out for a mountain bike ride I put it into the pocket on the back of my jersey.
In use, this little beauty does a great job of cutting the wind whether I'm topping out on a ridge line or bombing down a single track on my bike. The attached hood utilizes a rear shock cord for adjustability and the elastic waist and cuffs keep out the wind while the jacket provides ventilation along the back. The outside packable pocket with drawstring is large enough for a wallet and a cell phone. Reflective trim gives me a measure of safety when I am out after dark.
At 5'9" and 165 lbs, I am an average size guy and a medium fit me fine. I especially like how long the hem is cut, as when riding it keeps everything tucked in nicely. The jacket is holding up well so far but I will have to be careful since the fabric is so lightweight.
