Cold Steel Recon 1 Clip Point

rated 5 of 5 stars Exactly what the product should be. Durable. Real. Good blade. Sharp. It’s what it described. It’s been put to work many times and hasn’t let me down yet. Great for a everyday carry. As a avid knife collector this is worth every penny. This is a great knife! I am a Cold Steel believer. I own over 100 knives of all makers and price range. I always go back to Cold Steel. I have the original Recon with Axis lock. I liked the quickness of that lock better, but the handle design of this model is… Full review

Spyderco Stretch 2

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A great EDC at a reasonable price with VG-10 steel. Wonderful ergonomics! Option for high end steel at higher cost. Reasonably priced folder for EDC. FRN bidirectional scales prevent slipping in the hand. Jimping on the spine and near the handle allows you to choke up towards the blade for ultimate blade control. Not too big—smaller than Endura but better ergonomics; and not too small—bigger than Delica. Locking folder. Full review

Kershaw Leek

rated 5 of 5 stars A lightweight, low-profile pocket knife that is a perfect companion for all occasions. Very well-made, super smooth assisted opening, and really good-looking. I was looking for a high-quality knife that I could carry everyday. Durability and functionality were tops on the list, but it needed to keep a good edge, be easy to open one-handed, and just look really nice. The search was over as soon as I laid hands on the Leek, and I now have four different designs (all stainless, blackout, Damascus,… Full review

Gerber Epic Knife

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellent as a backup fixed blade when camping, or as an EMS boot knife. I like it because it's a "small-ish" fixed blade (better/stronger than folder) and it doesn't have a pronounced pointed tip to poke yourself/others with. Sharpens up nicely and has serrations for added oomph when cutting thicker things. What sold it for me was the sheath. I'm a volunteer EMS Medic and the fact I can securely carry it in my boot w/o being conspicuous is a huge deal. The extra long clip can be carried upright… Full review

TOPS Knives Steel Eagle 107C Delta

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Solid 7-inch full tang knife, with a functional saw on the back edge of the blade. Best used in the processing of firewood and as an all around knife for use in the backcountry. It has a super sturdy design, and can handle serious use and abuse. Highly recommend. This knife is an all around beast. I absolutely love it, works like a charm, holds its edge, is super sturdy, and can be used in a wide variety of ways from splitting logs by "batoning" through them, to sawing through small sticks or branches,… Full review

Morakniv Companion

rated 4 of 5 stars This lightweight knife will be the only one needed. Having a extensive collection of knives and katanas I've come to find that high carbon steel knives are my favorite. When compared to stainless steels, carbon is softer, but tougher. That means that it's easier to sharpen and less likely to chip, as it's not as brittle. It will rust if left wet, but that's not necessarily bad, as long as it's not kept wet to the point it eats away steel. The Companion comes very sharp and highly polished and all… Full review

Gerber Ghostrike Fixed Blade

rated 4 of 5 stars Awesome knife, very light, easy to conceal. I'm very happy with it. It fits nicely on my belt and it conceals very well. I certainly recommend it. Full review

Opinel No. 8 Folding Knife

rated 5 of 5 stars Great knife. Super sharp and affordable. I have the stainless version of the Opinel no.8. I have since acquired other knives better suited for tougher tasks, but this stays in my pack. The knife was very sharp out of the box, and after sharpening it for the first time it retained a shaving-sharp edge. I mostly use this for food prep nowadays, but it could very well be used as an all-around knife. The spine of the blade has a sharp grind, which is great for striking ferro rods. Stainless steel isn't… Full review

Morakniv Companion

rated 5 of 5 stars The Morakniv Companion is an uncompromising work knife that is an excellent outdoor knife at an extraordinary price. Lightweight, easy to sharpen, and tough. The Morakniv Compaion with carbon steel blade is, in my opinion, the best value you can find for a basic work, camp, or kitchen knife. In addition, you can use it for things for which it wasn't designed. I'm not going over the specs because they've been covered in many other reviews. I bought the Companion new about three or four years ago… Full review
