Patagonia.com says:
Getting to and from the surf often means missioning through cool or windy conditions with plenty of moisture in the air. So to stay warmer and more comfortable before and after sessions, we set out to build lightweight, surf-specific insulation that had just the right amount of warmth and weather protection. After plenty of experimentation, we realized that the materials we really needed-stretch boardshort fabric and thermal wetsuit lining-had been with us all along, so we took the best qualities of each and combined them to build the versatile Stretch Thermal Hoody. The 7.8-oz bonded fabric has an exterior face made from light, stretchy and durable 2.8-oz 100% recycled polyester, with 50+ UPF sun protection and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish that holds off fog, spray or light showers. Sliding on easily and insulating even when wet, the interior thermal lining is the same stretchy, fast-drying 95% polyester (51% recycled)/5% spandex inverted microgrid that we use in our Yulex(R) wetsuits. The fixed three-panel hood provides streamlined protection for the head, and the full-zip front has a zipper garage for comfort under the chin; two self-draining, mesh-lined front slash pockets have non-corroding plastic zippers with added zipper pulls for ease of use. The durable elastic cuffs have thumb loops to help keep the sleeves in place, and a single-pull elastic drawcord at the hem lets you cinch the bottom of the jacket in chillier conditions. For cool weather kite sessions, a hidden entry detail at the bottom of the lower-left yoke provides kite harness compatibility. Fair Trade Certified(TM) sewn.
