A backpacker's classic, these reusable food tubes are great for viscous foods like smooth peanut butter, honey, or jam. Their weakness is the brittle plastic bar used to seal them, but with reasonable care — or a strip of duct tape — they will hold up for years.

A classic that hasn't yet been reviewed on Trailspace! I'm happy to patch the hole. These reusable food tubes have been available in outdoor supply stores for about as long as I can remember. We still have an old, well-used pair and recently picked up some fresh ones for a recent multi-day hike, at the low-low price of $4.95 a pair. They can be used for viscous foods like smooth (or at least not too chunky) peanut butter, jam, or honey, anything that doesn't require too much pressure to squeeze out.

A collection of small containers perfect for carrying small portions rather than full containers. Five bottles, two with flip spouts, plus two round containers with snap lids.

Came across this today while picking up some fishing line and decided to add a second set of these to the family inventory. I've been using the first set for six years now and it is still in use. Just wanted to get some more for the girls to use this summer. These things have an endless number of uses depending on what you find useful to bring along on a trip. Construction & Durability: Made from a food safe, pharmaceutical grade plastic and BPA free these containers are definitely durable.

I bought the GSI Spice Missile for an overnight trip to a local campground. I was car camping but trying to avoid taking the entire contents of my house. I have since used it on two overnight backpacking trips with less than 8 miles on each trip. Expensive and slightly on the heavy side, but a good option for a weekend or 3-day trip.

One of my pandemic projects has been assembling a small spice kit to use while backpacking and camping. I settled on a selection of six spices, with salt and sugar to be carried separately: onion powder, garlic powder, ground cayenne pepper, citric acid, ajinomoto (msg), and ground ginger. I can make a lot of tasty things out of that. If I could add one or two more spices, I'd add cinnamon and probably cardamom or parsley. For now, I decided to go ahead with just six. My first idea was to use the small supermarket spice jars, the type used by McCormick and the store brand at my local market, and that seemed like a reasonable idea until I actually assembled the set and discovered how heavy it was: about 300 grams.

Ultra light yet ultra strong liquid storage tube. Secure screw top over a small opening that allows for controlled, directed squeezing. Great for folks who are counting grams whether used for stove alcohol, sunscreen, or squeezable fluids. Perfect for those things you only want to carry in small portions.

Made of a soft, pliable LLDPE with a tightly sealed, screw top cap the Easy Traveler 1.5oz Squeeze Tube is a no-frills container that lets you safely carry liquids in small quantities. As the name implies, it holds 1.5 fluid ounces while weighing in at a mere 7g/0.25oz when empty. This tube is great for carrying things like soap or cooking oils and could be used to carry stove alcohol for those who are really carrying light and only need a few ounces. I have used a larger size made of the same materials to hold alcohol for preheating my MSR Whisperlite on cold weather trips.

The alcohol has been in this tube for over 365 days and both tube and fuel are in good condition.

We are avid canoe-campers in the BWCA and had tried many different ideas for storing and transporting food and kitchen gear along with keeping an eye on value. We came across this food pack with the corrugated plastic liner and thought we would give it a try. If nothing else, we figured we could use the pack for carrying other items if it did not work out - but happily it was a wise choice for us! The corrugated plastic liner is made from recycled plastic, which is very cool! And can be recycled when it wears out.

Well designed, well made by an ethical company, versatile and stylish. What more could you ask for?

Our go-to for all our lunches at the ski hill. The container is secure, sleek and the microwavable lid make it perfect for heating up almost anything. We always keep one in the car for the dog's water. Love, love, love the versatility of this container. Our friend even has one rigged to his snowmobile to keep his lunch warm when getting into the backcountry. Get one...hell, get three! You will use them!

Actually, I use this item, (really, I own two) at home. It's easily available from "Wally World"--it's practically a "fixture" there! I dislike relying upon flimsy, dirty egg cartons. Each side has a "handle." When the unit is "locked" together, the handles come together to form a thicker one which keeps the sides together well when carried.  (Remember though, that the catches work via simple friction. A little attention is necessary to keep the sides from opening up accidentally.) I dock a star for the lack of secure "locks" and the fact that eggs bigger than "medium"  are a tight fit--I've never had an egg crack from using this, though.
