Solo Stove Lite

One consideration that was important to me was the Solo Stove Lite is two pieces—just plop the cap on and you're good. Just practice making your stick fire. My brother has a different type of gassifer that works great too, and folds flat...wonderful...BUT in cold weather it was a finger-fumbler. So I decided I didn't want to build a tin fort but have a stove that was ready-to-go. Also, when I pack up the stove, I leave in the stove a box of matches and a single stick of pine fat wood which I shave… Full review

MySurvivalPack Core PUK Micro Stove

The Core PUK Micro Stove is a fuel-efficient alcohol stove with a titanium base for stability and a titanium pot stand for ease of use. Easy to set up and use, this stove offers a two-phase burn (boil and simmer) in a lightweight, compact kit—perfect for solo treks or trips with a friend. It can boil 2 cups of water fairly quickly and then continue burning up to 15-20 minutes on 1 oz/30 ml of fuel. A few months ago, idly browsing the web, I came across a Kickstarter campaign for a new alcohol… Full review

Jetboil MiniMo Cooking System

The JetBoil MiniMo makes cooking in the wilderness easy and enjoyable. It also boils water really quickly! The newer materials, however, are a bit of a letdown. I bought the MiniMo at the co-op garage sale. The previous owner had returned it stating that on the maiden voyage, the stove shot flames out of the sides of the chassis and burned the plastic housing.Burned the system was. I couldn’t figure out how this might have happened so I thought I’d purchase it used for the $44 price tag and… Full review

Paddy Pallin Spondonicles

Yep, Dave Noble is correct about the name Spondonicles. However the timing is somewhat earlier than 1978. I bought mine in the earlier 1970s from Paddy Pallin, while in the Mt Druitt Bushwalking Club. Any self-respecting true bushwalker wouldn't be seen without his/her Sponds. An essential piece of kit. Soto New River Pot + Amicus with Igniter

The Soto New River pot and Amicus stove are a great canister stove/pot combo, which I received as a prize for the Trailspace Top 25 reviewers of 2019. Nice sized support arms, great pot stability and light weight make this one a winner. Amicus Stove Specifications: Output: 2800 kcal/h 3260w 10210 BTU Duration: Burns approx.1.5 hours with 8 oz (250g) canister Weight: 2.9 oz (81g) Dimensions: In use 3.0 x 4.0 x 3.4 in (7.6 x 10.0 x 8.6 cm) When stowed 1.7 x 1.6 x 3.0 in (4.3 x 4.0 x 7.5 cm) (W… Full review

Jetboil Joule Group Cooking System

This is my third Jetboil stove and I literally damaged it simply setting it up. The two back stand supports are extremely flimsy. I bent one holding the stove in my hand while inserting the gas canister. I will wait until I hear a reply from Jetboil before I decide what to do with the stove. I received a Jetboil Joule as a birthday present. I have had two different Jetboil stoves in the past and was exited to use a newer and larger version. This one is advertised as being wonderful to use in temps… Full review

Camp Chef Stryker 100 Isobutane Stove

Quality build and everything fits inside, including 8-ounce fuel canister. I bought this stove to replace my JetBoil in which first the piezo igniter quit, and then the burner element disintegrated and died during my 2018 bicycle tour. I wanted a stove that would hold up under extreme conditions and pack up tight and compact for travel inside my bicycle panniers. The Camp Chef Stryker 100 sure looked like a winner as I was viewing it on the Amazon website. For comparison purposes, I’ve included… Full review

Solo Stove Lite

Terrible Customer Service. I found out after buying that they are prone to rust and didn't want to deal with that so I asked if it could be returned to them for a refund and the phone rep not only agreed but emailed their address. Since they have an office in DFW I brought it by unopened and spoke with TWO representatives on site who told me I would receive a refund. Fast forward the next week I call after hearing nothing from the company and was told by a CS rep that they would not be issuing a… Full review

Tomshoo Outdoor Camping Hiking Cookware Pot Set

I bought the Tomshoo Backpacker Stove off Amazon, kind of an impulse purchase because it was only $20, and it included a two-piece pot set as well. I had been looking for a smaller stove to take on my backpacking treks and figured I'd check this one out. I had never heard of the "Tomshoo" brand before (made in China) but saw they had other outdoor products online, so I took a chance. I'm very pleased with this little stove so far. It is very compact, and I can store a gas cylinder and a few other… Full review
