Primus Micron Trail Stove with Piezo

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Small and mighty and easy to use in a tiny, compact little package! This little thing only weighs about 3.2 ounces, and folds up like a little contortionist to fit in a stuff sack that's actually got room enough to throw in a lighter. Some stoves have skin tight bags for storage, but this one is great! It has a built in piezo lighter and is easy to screw on a canister for use. It's super easy to use, even without reading directions. Just make sure it's screwed on the canister tightly. You don't… Full review

Fire Maple FMS-118

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Pretty nice gas stove with pre-heating tube. Works stable with cold gas balloon and seem reliable enough. Suits for boiling water and food preparation. I can recommend it for hikers and tourist for food preparations even at winter. It is quite heavy and big (non-compact) compare to other stoves. (on right side Primus Express and BRS-3000T stoves) This stove is easy to set up. It stays firmly. Flame control is pretty good and gas regulation happens with delay, it should be taken into account. Spin… Full review

BRS 3000T

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent small, light, compact, and reliable stove. Plus cheap! This stove is very small and reliable, compact, and light. I compare to Primus Express stove. It has no self built-in ignitor. Consumes not more than regular stove (like Primus above, I will say 15gr). Burner is adjustable, mid-high is adjusted easily, but at low level adjustment not so good. Efficiency and gas consumption is regular for such kind of stoves. At full power it takes about 5-6 minute to boil 1 littler of water. During… Full review

Primus Windscreen

rated 3 of 5 stars I will not recommend to use, does not do job good. Does not protect fire from wind. It is easy to set up, holds firmly. Unfortunately protection is too low and does not cover open fire, as result it does not work on average wind power. I have Primus stove with piezo, somehow it is impossible to use build-in igniter because there is no hole for finger next to piezo side. After several attempts to use it I drop this idea and bought new foil wind protection. Full review

Primus Express Stove

rated 2 of 5 stars Not recommend. Low build quality and reliability. I have had this stove as a gift on my birthday. After a week or two we came to seashore to meet sun rising with cup of tea. We realize that piezo had been broken, it happens after 10 minutes trip in storage bag in my car, but was able to we make some hot tea. Thanks for matches! After this I brought my stove to magazine and after a month I got new one. On the next week I came to short trip in the forest. At the end of the day I found a good place… Full review

AntiGravityGear BCS-2 (Tin Man) Stove

rated 5 of 5 stars This stove boils water, and with a pot cozy, cooks rice or pasta for two. So small and light, with clean fuel, perfect for when you are carrying a stove. I used this stove when I hiked the AT from Sherburne Pass, Vermont, to Monson, Maine, in two sections, with my then 11 (and 12) year old son, and bicycled from Ohio to Massachusetts with my wife, as well as other shorter ventures. It is starting to show signs of aging—a few dents and ripples—but is still fully functional. I have taken care… Full review

Snow Peak LiteMax Titanium

rated 4 of 5 stars Absolutely love this stove. It is so compact it fits nicely in my cook pot with the isopro cannister. The pot support arms are easily positioned. I can adjust the burner to a pretty low setting and kind of simmer (with stirring now and then). For a lightweight backpacking stove it's really good. I had some trouble on a mountain top with 16mph winds and gusts. It didn't blow out completely but some gusts blew out one side or the other—as expected they re-lit on their own. A bit slower to boil water… Full review

MSR DragonFly

rated 5 of 5 stars It's easy to use, has amazing flame control, and get stuff hot super fast. It's as fast as a Jetboil when we tested side by side, and definitely more versatile. I use it all the time and it's held up so well. This is the best little cook stove around for versatile options. I picked one up used for like 15 bucks and it's been amazing. Haven't even had to service it in about six years. It's easy to use, has amazing flame control, and get stuff hot super fast. It's as fast as a Jetboil when we tested… Full review

Primus ETA Lite+

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Backpacking hunting stove. Purchased this stove for a backcountry elk hunting trip in Colorado. Stove worked flawlessly, but there are a few things that could make it a little more user friendly.  Knob turn has on and off, should be longer to be able to grasp with having to place hand under the cup if it boils over to shut it off.  Stove is fairly compact, but wish the cup was larger to fit a canister and the fold-up base.  Full review
