Kühl Airspeed Long-Sleeve Shirt

The Airspeed is a good balance of functions - above average in all areas but to be that versatile it has to sacrifice excellence. Breathability, quick-dry, sun protection and durability are all very good, along with comfort and a style that works in town and in the field. The slim fit may not work for everyone (go up a size if you are near top of the range) and long-term durability may be sacrificed for comfort and venting (time will tell). The Kuhl Airspeed long-sleeved shirt is designed for warm… Full review

Patagonia Long-Sleeved Sol Patrol Shirt

This shirt works brilliantly. Always neat and trim, the roll-up sleeves and chest zip pocket are outstanding features. I can carry meds in that pocket, extra glasses without difficulty. I have several and wear them throughout the summer Full review

Patagonia Long-Sleeved Sol Patrol Shirt

Designed for warm temperatures, the 50+ UPF Sol Patrol shirt is comfortable, quick-drying, and highly sun-protective. Best suited for fishing, hiking/backpacking, and general travel, this relaxed fitting button-up is ideal for many outdoor activities. Current testing shows top quality performance, even though some features seem unnecessary. It gets muggy here in the mid-Atlantic. Much of the Appalachian range is considered a temperate rainforest. Typical hiking under the canopy here is nearly 100°F… Full review

Fjallraven Abisko Trekking Shirt

Hiking shirt for hot weather. Heavy for its intended purpose yet offers good ventilation due to the weave of the material. The Fjallraven Abisko Trekking Shirt Fjallraven's Abisko Trekking Shirt is meant for hiking in warm weather. Its material is 84 percent polyester and 16 percent elastane, which makes it comfortably stretchy. The shirt is heavy for a summer garment, with the medium weighing in at 325 grams (11.5 oz) according to the official specifications. Other hiking shirts tend to weigh no… Full review

Pendleton Trail Shirt

One of my best purchases ever, technical or not! This wool shirt has been on many explorations, hikes, and mountain bike rides. It's warmer than it looks, but never clammy thanks to the natural fibers. The overall fit of Pendleton seems athletic, meaning room to move. Definitely not fitted. But not baggy either, as some of their vintage shirts are. The material and design are the real standouts here. The wool material is not too thin, not too thick. I don't find it itchy. And I especially like that… Full review

Craghoppers NosiLife Adventure Long-Sleeved Shirt

The best anti-mosquito defense you can buy outside of repellent. This is one of my very most favourite shirts. It's very hard-wearing. It's a workhorse I only wear outdoors. I love the moss green colour. It works to stop my getting bitten by insects. Great shirt.  Full review

REI New Route Henley T-shirt

This merino/nylon blend shirt is the pleasant surprise of the season. Though advertised for casual wear, it is a fine shirt for warm weather hiking.                 A warm spring day in the foothills Being a Merino wool lover, I was looking for a casual henley style shirt for everyday wear. Seeing that it was described as having a "Merino Wool/nylon blend mesh" weave, I thought it might be a comfy shirt in warm weather, so I ordered it up. After wearing it a couple of times, I thought I… Full review

Royal Robbins Merinolux Flannel Long Sleeve Shirt

The Royal Robbins Merinolux Flannel Long Sleeve Shirt is a decent option for cool to cold weather hiking. People who like the look of a flannel shirt and want to avoid cotton will approve. So will hikers who crave high durability. Relatively low amounts of merino wool limit the shirt's temperature range: it's 46% Sorona polyester, 43% polyester, and 11% merino wool. Claims that the shirt has "superior softness" aren't accurate. INTRODUCTION Royal Robbins claims that its Merinolux Flannel Long Sleeve… Full review

RailRiders Adventure Top

Can't say enough about this shirt. Its UV protection and comfortable, lightweight, and quick drying fabric make this an awesome choice for activities in a variety of climates. Fit & Comfort: I love this shirt! Does it make you look like a pilgrim? Yes, but's its a great shirt nonetheless. It is lightweight, comfortable and it dries quickly—making it ideal for multi-day trips in the backcountry.  The fabric will get stiff as sweat dries, but that's to be expected and nothing a quick rinse… Full review
