Part of Marmot's backpacking series, the Gamma 0-Degree Down Sleeping Bag isn't Marmot's lightest or most high-tech bag, but it might be the best combination of weight, warmth, packability, and value that you can find, and just because it isn't Marmot's MOST advanced bag doesn't mean it isn't still pretty damn advanced. Loaded up with water-resistant 700-fill goose down wrapped in durable nylon ripstop, the Gamma is a great four-season bag for all but the gnarliest conditions, with an EN comfort rating of 16 degrees and a lower-limit rating of 3. To prevent the Gamma losing all its insulating power if it becomes wet, the down's been treated with Down Defender, which helps the insulation keep its loft even in slightly soggy circumstances. The Gamma's got plenty of other features, too, like a super-warm and snug six-baffle hood and face muff that seal around your mug to keep the chill at bay, and an insulated draft tube that lines the zipper to make sure all the cold air doesn't sneak in and ruin your night. Like all Marmot's higher-end bags, it has stretchy baffles by the feet and head, so you can move around at night without getting all twisted up, and a trapezoidal footbox that is snug around your heels and more spacious in the toes for comfort and better heat retention, so you can spend the whole night in serious down comfort.
