Mountain House Breakfast Skillet

This 4-ounce container (like many of the Mountain House entrees) when easily rehydrated, is large enough for two...provided you have a side of toast/tortilla/bagel and coffee. Delicious and nutritious. Somewhat expensive, but if you get on the Mountain House website/mailing list, you can get yearly specials, which can cut costs. Fast, easy camp meal for two. Mountain House has a complete line of affordable breakfast, lunch, or dinner entrees....even deserts! Recommend utilizing their website as… Full review

Patagonia Provisions Organic Breakfast Grains

A fully organic hot breakfast cereal, packing 400 calories and 7 grams of protein per package, this is the earthiest of cereals I’ve tried. I didn’t care for the taste. This review is for the Tart Apple flavor of this product line. Ingredients: Organic Toasted Buckwheat, Organic Cracked Barley, Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Freeze Dried Apple, Organic Nonfat Dry Milk, Organic Flax Seed, Organic Ground Rice Hulls, Salt, Organic Sunflower Oil Nutrition: Serving Size 1/2 cup (57g) Servings Per… Full review

Heather's Choice Strawberry Vanilla Breakfast

Tasty, healthy breakfast. Found at random online. Smaller outfit that specializes in backcountry meals. Gave it a try on my last adventure and was very impressed by the taste and homemade quality. Having visited the website to consider future meals, it's obvious the gal who owns and operates is very skilled, not only in food prep, but in backpacking. Will definitely try again. Full review

Mountain House Breakfast Skillet

This meal was very easy to make and filling and had a lot of flavor. Everything heated well though the eggs were a bit runny for my taste. The flavors were good and the meal was very hearty. If weight isn’t a concern I think this would go amazing in a tortilla with some hot sauce as to me it tasted like the inside of a breakfast burrito. I tried this meal as a member of another site in exchange for a review while at Lodgepole Overflow Campground in Lake Alpine. This meal was very easy to make… Full review

Good To-Go Granola

Delicious, nutritious meal. Much better tasting than other granola varieties. The pros of taste, prep ease, and nutrition far outweigh any cons. I received this product as a gift for being a past Reviewer of the Month at Trailspace. Taste: This was easily the best tasting prepackaged breakfast I've had to date. It was sweet, nutty, fruity, and hearty all at the same time. The ingredients combined perfectly for my palate. A few of the ingredients are figs, blueberries, almonds, oars, and flax seed. Good To-Go Oatmeal

Yummy and different take on a classic backcountry breakfast. We have all eaten our share of oatmeal breakfasts in the backcountry. Many opt for the grocery store bought packets, which aren't necessarily great, and are usually loaded with sugar, and not much else. I have been in the habit of creating my own ziploc oatmeal packets with oats, nuts, cranberries, raisins, and brown sugar, which is decent, but not perfect. Good To-Go has had great success with their tasty dinners, and steps into the breakfast… Full review

Mountain House Scrambled Eggs with Bacon

Walk, no, run away from these! Do not buy these, do not try these, they are nasty. The only "camping meal" worse then this is the dreaded MRE Veggie omelet. These taste like shame and regret, which happens to share flavors with cardboard and packing peanuts. My favorite brands in order are Good To-Go, Pack It Gourmet, Mountain House, Outdoor Herbivore, Hawk VittleS, Backpacker's Pantry, AlpineAire, MRE. These do not stand up to MH's typical quality. What's weird is that the Breakfast Skillet is… Full review

Packit Gourmet Santa Fe Breakfast Corn Pudding

This is the best pre-packaged breakfast that I have eaten on the trail. I have sampled many other dehydrated and freeze dried breakfast items over the years, and have not repurchased any of them. The Packit Gourmet (PIG) Santa Fe Breakfast Pudding is the first one that will be a regular in my trail food rotation. Summary: I usually test gear multiple times, but this breakfast meal was so good a couple of weeks ago that I thought I would share it with everyone before the colder months really set… Full review
