Mountain Hardwear Logan Canyon 3/4 Pant
When you want a little more protection than shorts, but a little more ventilation than full length pants, these are the ticket. Comfortable and hard-wearing in a variety of conditions all year round. Sierracanon in the Logan Canyon 3/4 pants, ready to hike! A couple of years ago I decided to try something new, and purchased a pair of Mountain Hardwear AP 3/4 pants. Though the "man capri" look was a little different for me, I found myself wearing them all the time... not just hiking, but pretty much… Full review

Sitka Ascent Pant
The Sitka Ascent Pants are a compellingly solid pair of lightweight hiking and hunting pants, built for warm-weather conditions. Although they are made by a hunting-focused company, these are every bit as good for non-hunters as they are for the hunters—and near perfect for people like me who do both. The breathable, stretch material (Stretch CORDURA Nylon Woven Blend) keeps things cool downstairs when the temps are hot, but unlike many summer hiking pants on the market, these are actually durable… Full review

Gore H5 Partial Gore-Tex Infinium Pants
One pair of pants to rule them all! If I put as much forethought into my life as the GORE design team did on these pants I’d be wealthy and wise rather than just handsome. I used to worry about which pants to wear on which activity. These pants, so far, do everything I want to do outside. GORE designed these pants to be ridiculously light 10.9-ounce, flexible, stretchy, windproof, and tough. They are designated as “Fast Hiking” pants. Gore made these pants for maximum flexibility and wind-proofness… Full review

Patagonia Quandary Pants
The Patagonia Quandary Pants are lightweight trekking pants (287g) with an internal drawstring. I wore these pants for five weeks straight recently and can attest to their breathability, elasticity, and comfort. Overview I bought these pants when I was looking for a pair of khaki trekking pants with waist adjustment for my trip to Nepal. I only brought the one pair of pants for my five-week trip and I wore them everyday. I can attest to their comfort, durability, and stretch. Performance These pants… Full review

Outdoor Research Equinox Convert Pants
Light, comfortable, and moderately fast drying pants for on trail or off. The OR Equinox Convert Pants are durable enough to handle real world abuse, yet comfortable enough to wear around the house. Hamlin summit at Baxter State Park with Turner Mtn and Katahdin Lake in the distance. The Outdoor Research Equinox Convert pants showed up on the old Massdrop site this spring at a pretty good price, so I grabbed a couple of pair. These pants have been used extensively, on trail and off, since the day… Full review

Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible Pant
Great three-season pants. Quick dry. Perfect wash n wear. A summertime favorite. Perfect as long pants in morning, midday zip off the legs for shorts. Ideal to protect legs from brush or harsh sunshine. Full review

Montane Terra Pants
Terra pants are designed to be lightweight, hard wearing, weather resistant, highly breathable trousers suitable for a range of outdoor sports. They may be lightweight, but they carry a hefty price tag. Not wanting to be dinner for ticks or to get sunburn I walk in the summer wearing trousers these days. It is not as comfortable as wearing shorts, but the "shorts and walking boots" look is not a good look and at least I know I am protected. I was drawn to the Montane Terra Pants because Montane… Full review

Fjallraven Barents Pro Trousers
Tough trekking trousers with reinforced seat and knees, six pockets, and raw-length leg endings. Though described as trekking trousers, I wear these Fjallraen Barent Pro trousers for a range of activities from hiking/trekking to working in the woods. They are more suited to cool weather as they are comparatively heavy and my pair, being black, really soak up the sun as there are no air vents. Made from tough G1000 material, the cut is excellent. This allows for free movement when walking and bending… Full review

Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Convertible Pants
Good all around convertible pant. Fabric stretches, fit is very good (lots of sizes), like this pant. These pants are great. Very versatile whether as full pants or as shorts with the legs zipped off. I wore them every day during recent a three-week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Whether in the raft, in the water, or during day hikes the pants performed very well. When wet they dried quickly. Stretchy fabric was a strong asset, whether in shorts mode or when lower pant legs were zipped on. Full review
