Montane Men's Terra Pants

Terra pants are designed to be lightweight, hard wearing, weather resistant, highly breathable trousers suitable for a range of outdoor sports. They may be lightweight, but they carry a hefty price tag. Not wanting to be dinner for ticks or to get sunburn I walk in the summer wearing trousers these days. It is not as comfortable as wearing shorts, but the "shorts and walking boots" look is not a good look and at least I know I am protected. I was drawn to the Montane Terra Pants because Montane… Full review

Fjallraven Barents Pro Trousers

Tough trekking trousers with reinforced seat and knees, six pockets, and raw-length leg endings. Though described as trekking trousers, I wear these Fjallraen Barent Pro trousers for a range of activities from hiking/trekking to working in the woods. They are more suited to cool weather as they are comparatively heavy and my pair, being black, really soak up the sun as there are no air vents. Made from tough G1000 material, the cut is excellent. This allows for free movement when walking and bending… Full review

Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Convertible Pants

Good all around convertible pant. Fabric stretches, fit is very good (lots of sizes), like this pant. These pants are great. Very versatile whether as full pants or as shorts with the legs zipped off. I wore them every day during recent a three-week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Whether in the raft, in the water, or during day hikes the pants performed very well. When wet they dried quickly. Stretchy fabric was a strong asset, whether in shorts mode or when lower pant legs were zipped on. Full review

World Wide Sportsman Gulf Breeze Convertible Pants

Competitive, value-priced convertible pants play hard and stand up to the activity. Options help you meet the demand of the day: long pant, capri, or shorts. Several years ago, I went on a pretty exhaustive search for women's zip-off hiking pants that would fit two criteria: my size 18 body and my tight budget. Besides being pricey, the Columbia hiking pants just did not fit me, among several other top brand pants. I finally stumbled onto the World Wide Sportsman brand pants at Bass Pro Shops. I… Full review

REI Men's Sahara Convertible Pants

These pants are great! Really high quality material. Lightweight, but they do a great job keeping the wind and cold out. Full review

Columbia Passo Alto II Pant

Great light soft shell pants for three-season use for athletic shape man. Looking for a light soft shell pant for three-season use at a great price if you are on the slim side, try the Passo Alto Pants! I'm 155 pounds, 6 ft tall and the 32 inch and 42 (first time I see this length in pants). Pants have articulated knees and a bungee cord at the bottom to cinch. They are higher in the back which I find really comfortable and prevent air in the lower back. They are not for you if you have muscular… Full review

Mountain Hardwear AP 3/4 Pants

An excellent, albeit unconventional choice if you can't decide between shorts or long pants, especially during the shoulder seasons. Often as I am getting ready for a hike in autumn or spring, I have to make a decision whether to wear shorts or long pants. Shorts might be too cool, but full long pants might get too warm. I have often found myself hiking with long pants cuffed up to ventilate. I've seen 3/4 length pants like this for a few years now, and wondered how they'd work out. My previous… Full review

Fjallraven Men's Keb Gaiter Trousers

I have owned the Keb Gaiter Trousers for 1.5 years. The design of this trousers is the best of all my hiking/trekking trousers. I like the ventilation zippers most. The flexible material provides excellent function. There is only one drawback of this trousers, its position of tight pockets. The tight pockets are just right on the thigh and even I put a flat stuff, such as wallet, will cause a Hot Spot in just one or two hours walking, don't mention if anything with uneven surface, such as keys,… Full review

Quechua Forclaz 100 Convertible Walking Trousers

Ultralight, breathable, quick drying, 'Technical' walking trousers with plenty of pockets and the convenience of zip-off legs. Previously known as "Trek 100 Men's Mountain Trekking zip-off Trousers". I have been using zip-off leg trousers for my holidays, hiking, and camping for several years now and love the convenience of them. My last pair was a pair of North Face zip-offs with cargo pockets. However, I am now a fully-fledged ultralight hiking/camping gear enthusiast so when it came to reducing… Full review
