Ikea RÅDIG Espresso Pot

If you like your coffee strong, there's nothing stronger than moka-pot!! Do you like the GSI single-shot espresso maker? Well this makes six shots of that same strong coffee in one batch!! Believe it or not, this is my camping coffee pot. It's a moka-pot style coffee maker, made by IKEA, and it's all stainless steel!! I find it makes superb coffee that could wake the dead, and it's about the same size as a standard 1L Bodum or Nalgene. Taste (9/10): If you heat slowly and remove from heat when the… Full review

AeroPress Coffee Maker

Right up front, this lightweight, compact coffee press is absolutely the best way to make coffee! It's fast and extremely easy to use. Setup, brewing, and cleanup takes less than 2.5 minutes. I love my coffee, and the Aerobie AeroPress is hands down the best coffee maker that I have ever come across. It's so good, that there are almost 35,000 positive reviews and how-to videos on YouTube. I highly recommend watching some of those videos. I highly recommend any one of the inverted methods. Setup,… Full review

MSR MugMate Coffee/Tea Filter

Simple, light and effective. It might not deliver the richness of a press but at just one ounce it more than delivers the goods for coffee-loving backpackers. As a sunrise coffee freak I've tried a couple of different coffee methods, including a lightweight press and collapsible filter, but the MSR Mugmate is the one that finds its way into my pack. It fits perfectly in my Snow Peak mug and at only an ounce, it's the one that makes the most sense. I've found that a grind that is too fine takes a… Full review

GSI Outdoors JavaDrip

It can use the paper coffee filters, just like at home. This was a present this year and I used it for a weeklong camping trip. Disposing of the grounds from my French press was sometimes a hassle. This product solves that problem. It comes with a reuseable filter that I have not used yet, but the paper filters work great. The procedure I use is poor hot water into the coffee/filter until full. Let it drip and repeat. It makes about three cups. The coffee tastes great and there are no grounds in… Full review

Stanley Mountain Vacuum Coffee System

Makes fine coffee in a compact unit workable in a domestic setting or campground, but a tad heavy for a long backpack. My unit is now in use as my regular coffee maker. I will use it in the same manner on camping trips and possibly on backpacks where weight is not a big deal. The brewing pot and press surround a vacuum bottle which has tricked out lid assembly with two plastic drinking cups and a container which can hold coffee grounds for about two brews or sugar ad creamer packets. All in all,… Full review

Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip

The Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip is made of heat-resistant silicone, making this coffee drip both a pleasure to use and making for a great hot brew up. There is no metal to leave that metal taste and no plastic so there is no plastic taste either. Just the taste of your fresh hot brewed cuppa of coffee, tea, cocoa, hot cider, etc. Sometimes you happen across a gem of a find and it is a real SCORE. This product is one of those finds! The Ozark Trail Collapsible Coffee Drip is made of heat-resistant… Full review

Outdoor Products Coffee Press

Simply great! This is the simplest, most compact, best quality coffee maker I've seen. I use it several times a day and love it. The only thing i don't like is the lid's drinking spout. I drink really hot coffee, but drinking hot coffee from the lid burns my upper lip. I don't need the lid often, so not much of a problem for me! Full review

MSR WindBurner Coffee Press Kit

A French press add-on to the Windboiler 1.0 liter pot, stows nicely inside and makes a gourmet brew. The Windboiler Coffee Press kit is a nifty and fully-functional add-on to the 1.0 L Windboiler system. I bought Mine in Pinedale, Wyo., during an unplanned exit midway through a 9-day hike in the Wind Rivers, when with our food supplies partially depleted we decided we could afford the extra weight of the press and some ground coffee. I used it every morning for the rest of the trip, and on a subsequent… Full review

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Java Drip

Nice product, if you want to spend that kinda time and effort to get a cup of joe. Personally, after a long hike and early morning call, I find I am just as satisfied with the instant packs available. But, if you want to go thru the motions, this isn't bad. Before taking it out on the trail, I tried it at home. It worked fine and made a decent cup of coffee. On the trail, about the time I got all set up, the cup and grinds got kicked over leaving me with no coffee.  Much bad... It's a fun gadget,… Full review
