Jennings JZ560 pocket scale
A compact, lightweight, and inexpensive pocket scale, useful for weighing out ingredients and meals on the fly. Menu planning for an international backpacking trip presents a special challenge. Unless you are going to fly in with all your food, you’re going to have to buy some or all of it in country. And to be sure you have enough calories and not too much weight, you’re going to need to do some weighing and calculating. Take, for example, our 2014 25-day Two Families on the JMT trip, or the… Full review

Wacaco Nanopresso
A hand-pumped espresso maker that is small and light enough to take along on weekenders, hut-to-hut trips, to base camp, and the like. Reliably delivers high quality espresso shots. Add-ons for double shots or using capsules. An international crew: From left to right: American, Norwegian, Norwegian (dog), Finnish, German, Italian (Simone), Dutch A couple years ago I shared a hut with a group of mostly younger skiers of several nationalities, including an Italian named Simone. Pathfinder Stainless Steel 25 oz Cup & Lid Set
Versatile and hardwearing cup for drinks and boiling water for rehydrating food. Includes a snap on lid and batwing handles. Equally at home on an open fire or gas burner. If looked after, it will last a life time. I have a few Pathfinder items, this is the last of them for review. I have a variety of cups for different purposes but this one is quickly becoming my favourite as it is more versatile than my Vargo Ti or MSR Titan as it can be used more effectively on an open fire. The cup has a generous… Full review

Pathfinder Large Bushpot
A sturdy large pot with a bail handle for boiling larger amounts of water or for small groups. Also good for cooking pasta/rice and stews. Dave Canterbury is a legend in Bushcraft/survival. His equipment is based on extensive trials and use in the field. It is well though out, high quality, and reasonably priced, especially if looked after well as it should last a lifetime. Dave experienced a life-changing house fire not so long ago, so we could all help a giant among outdoors people to get back… Full review

Sea to Summit Delta Bowl
I used this when hiking on the Cactus Hill Bike Trail in the island nation of Aleialei Atoll and I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed good meals like beans, corn, coconut pudding, and shrimp in this bowl and highly recommend it. I never knew you could associate and make such good memories with a bowl. LOL! XD I was walking on the Cactus Hill Hike & Bike Trail in the small island nation of Aleialei Atoll when this bowl for sale caught my eye. I quickly jumped on the opportunity to use it and I enjoyed… Full review

Pathfinder Folding Skillet and Lid
Excellent for back country cooking around camp. Its thicker solid bottom distributes heat evenly, the lid retains heat and prevents splashing, and the foldaway handle is easy to use and sturdy. You have to feel for bushcraft legend Dave Canterbury—he lost everything in a house fire earlier in the year. Not only is he a genuine and humble person, he has made a massive contribution to how we live, work, and thrive in the outdoors. This skillet is a great addition to any camp cook setup and while… Full review

GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Dualist HS
This stove is unsafe on any canister stove. This stove is unsafe on any canister stove. The heat sink feature only allows the pot to be off center a half inch, before the user gets a lap of scalding contents. Full review

Sea to Summit Sigma Stainless Steel Pot
Handle pivot lock clip issue. Lock on both pots in 2.2 set disconnected. I had the same issue with this pot. The lock on the pivot just disconnected and got lost in the grassy ground. It happened to both pots during the same camping trip. Now it's a real safety issue as you can easily meet an accident due to the pot swinging out easily. I'm requesting a Warranty claim or just sending a replacement lock. Full review

EcoVessel The Perk 20oz
I have tried a variety of insulated mugs for our travels but wanted this one for the removable strainer so I could enjoy loose leaf tea while traveling and for this, it works very well. Everything you need to know about this product is indicated in the pros and cons above! Full review
