Black Diamond Men's StormLine Stretch Rain Pant

rated 3.5 of 5 stars A light and waterproof pair of rain pants that have some nice stretch to them, making them easy to move in and take along for multiple outdoor pursuits. I found them best when hiking and camping, with enough room for thin layers underneath, but a little maxed out when wearing thicker layers underneath. Construction & Durability:In my experience, there are typically two kinds of rain pants, either a) ultralight and easily rip when stretched too far, brushed up against vegetation, etc, or b) super… Full review

Marmot Men's Scree Pant

rated 4 of 5 stars Durable, water and wind resistant, good winter soft shell. I've had these for four years, and have used them primarily for snowshoeing, xc skiing, and winter hikes. They still look like new. When worn with a mid weight base layer, they're perfect in cool to moderately cold winter weather.  When I bought them, I could only get them in a 32" inseam, which is just long enough, but thankfully they haven't shrunk at all with washing.  The fabric is stretchy enough for active motion, but heavy enough… Full review

Columbia Passo Alto II Pant

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great light soft shell pants for three-season use for athletic shape man. Looking for a light soft shell pant for three-season use at a great price if you are on the slim side, try the Passo Alto Pants! I'm 155 pounds, 6 ft tall and the 32 inch and 42 (first time I see this length in pants). Pants have articulated knees and a bungee cord at the bottom to cinch. They are higher in the back which I find really comfortable and prevent air in the lower back. They are not for you if you have muscular… Full review

Rab Men's Vector Pant

rated 5 of 5 stars One great pair of pant! I've bought mine for my ice climbing, but have yet only been hiking in them. Bought the 32s and they fit like a glove; I'm 6 ft tall and 155 pounds on the athletic side. They seem burly, but they are not lined with a fleece so have them paired with a good base layer for warmth. Great piece of gear. Full review

Mountain Hardwear Hestia Bib

rated 5 of 5 stars When your bibs last ten years you need to tell folks. This is my go-to bib for any winter activity that I will be human powered. Superb durability and fantastic venting. The greatest advantage is the ability to easily zip and unzip legs for breathable venting during uphill travel. I paused as I went to grab my bibs for a day of skinning and skiing the other day. Wow, ten years. So often we complain about the shortcoming of a piece of gear. But I just have to give a shout-out to Mountain Hardwear. Full review

Outdoor Research Women's Ferrosi Pants

rated 5 of 5 stars LOVE these pants! I have paired with a long john a few times on colder days and kept warm. Summer months the light colours are perfect for every activity! Fit is spot on—all OR products fit the same. Warmth when needed and cool in hotter temps. Full review

Mountain Hardwear AP 3/4 Pants

rated 5 of 5 stars An excellent, albeit unconventional choice if you can't decide between shorts or long pants, especially during the shoulder seasons. Often as I am getting ready for a hike in autumn or spring, I have to make a decision whether to wear shorts or long pants. Shorts might be too cool, but full long pants might get too warm. I have often found myself hiking with long pants cuffed up to ventilate. I've seen 3/4 length pants like this for a few years now, and wondered how they'd work out. My previous… Full review

Marmot Men's PreCip Pant

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Wore these in an all-day rain on a backpack in Pennsylvania in spring 2010. The kleenex I had in the front pocket was dry the entire day Full review

Marmot Men's PreCip Pant

rated 3.5 of 5 stars For me, the Marmot PreCip Pants serve as a lightweight alternative to snow pants when the weather is not warm but not subzero. They are just right for the beginning or end of the snow season when you appreciate the impermeability but don’t want the extra bulk. Fit and Comfort:  I like how the pants find the right size between being able to maneuver in them while not simultaneously looking like MC Hammer pants from the early nineties. They are about just the right size to pull over thermal underwear… Full review
