Deschutes

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This tarp is well made, spacious, and not difficult to pitch. It's essentially the more popular Lunar Solo, but without a floor/net. I've used this tarp on a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail, and in various trips in the Rockies, Ontario, Quebec, and the eastern U.S. It is easy to pitch, requiring one pole, and is well sewn so it's not terribly difficult to manage a taut pitch. It packs down very small, about the size of a Nalgene if necessary. Like all single-wall shelters, condensation can build… Full review

Skyscape Scout

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Good value, very well constructed, just the right price point to get involved with UL hiking. I purchased the SMD Skyscape Scout tent to take on a 100-mile Colorado Trail segment hike. The Skyscape Scout from Six Moon Designs was the best choice to get started. The Scout is the same tent as the Trekker, but in poly. Only a slight weight penalty separates the Scout from the Trekker, so the choice (for me) was obvious.  The tent is easy to set up, has good headroom, but small vestibules. Ventilation… Full review

Fusion 65

rated 3 of 5 stars Based on the durable materials and construction, I am guessing the primary intent for this design is to carry moderate to heavier loads (loads of 40-50 pounds). In 2015, the new Fusion 65 (67 liter) had two options for shoulder straps. One short and one even shorter (the s-curve). This is a durable pack designed to last for years of trail fun. "Fusion Packs are designed to carry whatever gear you need comfortably." is the motto for this pack according to Six Moons Designs. You can go to sixmoonsdesigns.com… Full review

Skyscape Scout

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Skyscape Scout is a lightweight, inexpensive, single person tent. I've used this tent over a dozen nights in conditions ranging from light rain to heavy wind or warm nights. Its versatility allows you to open it like a tarp or buckle it down like a double wall tent.   All of my gear fits in the tent with nothing relegated to the vestibule. Six Moon Designs says there are two vestibules, but only one can be accessed from inside so I don't consider the second one usable. I did replace the cross… Full review

Lunar Solo LE

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Good tent, poor customer service. I'm preparing to hike the PCT and got this ultralight tent for my journey. I've set up the tent a few times in my backyard and used it on overnight hikes. The tent is a good tent and performs well (I wouldn't say it's an above and beyond tent) but it's good quality and I will certainly take it with me on my thru hike. The biggest downside for me has been poor customer service from Six Moon Designs. When I first received my tent I noticed two deficiencies: 1) one… Full review
