Eberlestock J34 Just One

High quality, multi-function pack for week-plus trips. I have used on several camping trips and several hunting trips and it has ample room for excursions of up to nine days with food and all gear. It is a comfortable pack with wide hip belt for heavy loads and has the ability to zip up and strap down for a smaller profile pack.  Full review

The North Face Skareb 55

A good lightweight pack to hold all your essentials. I've had this pack for a number of years, only to use as a pack for overnight trips to carry my clothing. Always kept indoors, dry, away from heat sources. The rubber coating on the inside has started to deteriorate though, and this is prevalent in the upper part where you roll the two flaps to close the pack. It was fine for a couple of years, but now the rubber is really peeling and falling off, and gets all over your clothing inside. It's unfortunate,… Full review

Six Moon Designs Minimalist

The Six Moon Designs Minimalist is a backpack engineered to let you change configurations easily to match your changing needs. The frame and hip belt are entirely removable. You can select shoulder straps or a vest harness at time of purchase which can be swapped easily as well if you purchase both. The Minimalist is best for Light/Ultra Light use with total loads below 35 lbs. It remained functionally useful and comfortable with loads approaching 50lbs. Its comfortable ride makes it great for day-after-day… Full review

Over 20 years of use from -20 to 110 temps. It’s durable, able to handle heavy loads, and adjustable to different size users. Comfortable and adjustable, I have gained 65lbs since I got it and it still fits. It’s a beast. Had it over 20 years. It’s been in -20 and 110 degree temps. It hauled 70 lbs with my 17-year old 6'2" 265-lb son while elk hunting in Colorado for a week, survived eight weeks of basic training at ALERT in Texas. Was broke in while in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, been… Full review

Terrific backpack! Bought it eight years ago for 360$ CAD. Best pack I've ever had. Sixteen days a years in the AT and he is in really good shape in date of today. Packed ultra light—day clothes, night clothes, rain coat, water pump, nafta stove, headlamp, tent, sleeping bag etc. Full review

Fjallraven Men's Kajka 65

This pack is what I use as a Wilderness Guide in Tasmania. It is durable, adjustable, and holds more gear than it rightly should; all while transferring the load to the large hip belt in a comfortable way. Great for heavy loads. The Fjallraven Kaja 65l is a pack built with old-school workmanship and new-school features. I chose this for my work as a Wilderness Guide due to the adjustability and durability; although it is quite heavy compared to most packs. This pack is designed as a load hauler. Full review

Osprey Atmos AG 65

Comfortable. Adjustable. Durable. Convenient. Affordable. This pack is very durable and comfortable. It is not anti-gravity, despite its name. Tends toward the heavy end but is a great compromise where ruggedness outweighs the need for speed. I have the 65 which has the roominess of my old favorite Kelty frame pack. If I miss something it’s the well defined compartments. I find it challenging to organize and access all my junk. But that inconvenience is moot in consideration of its comfort. If… Full review

I LOVE this pack. Though the older version, the pocket management, versatility, and especially the stability just shine. I got caught in 'pack out' rainstorm on a three-day trip. I was amazed that for its trimness, all the gear I needed fit in just fine. I think I was packing 45lbs? and that was with probably excessive amount of food. It held my BIG 3, (Kelty Salida2) plus my Katadyn Hiker Pro filter, MSR DragonFly, 1L of fuel, Primus ETA 1L pot. It poured the last night (was forecasted) and I knew… Full review

Rivendell Mountain Works Jensen

Great design and great construction. Got one of Eric Hardee's current-version Jensens about four years ago. Stupendous pack for backcountry hut touring on skis. The weight stays close to the back (have not experienced a better pack in that regard), and capacity is perfect for about four nights out with no tent and with a light sleeping bag. I do have the optional snap-on side pockets and wouldn't be able to make those trips work without them. Full review
