Lawson Hammock Blue Ridge Camping Hammock

A good idea, and in proper conditions the Lawson Hammock is a good option. Although the separator rods work well to make a flatter-ish sleep platform (yep, only "flatter-ish"), the one pivot/twirl point of contact also contributes to it's instability. It becomes even more unstable if used with a sleeping pad, and with a 4" thick pad for cold weather consideration (was a short walk in to site from my vehicle; i.e. was not hiking with such a big sleep pad), it became completely unusable. The pad's… Full review

Hammock Bliss Sky Bed Bug Free

Better than you probably are thinking. I have 2 Warbonnets, 1 Hennessy, 1 Thermarest and a Hammock Bliss. They all have their pluses and minuses. If you are looking for a camping hammock that is complete and ready to camp in, Hennessy is probably the way to go. The Bliss is going to need a tarp and a ridge line and insulation. But the Bliss has one thing going for it no other hammock on the market has: it is truly asymmetrical. All the others try to be asymmetrical, which is better than nothing,… Full review

Warbonnet Blackbird XLC

State of the art This is a good hammock. I own 5 hammocks and only three camping hammocks so it is unfair for me to rank this hammock as best or worst etc. If you read reviews it is often suggested that this is the "best" camping hammock but I would not go that far.  But if you buy one you will have loads of company. It does everything well and has a cool shelf that no one else has but IMHO it is more difficult to get rid of calf ridge than (for example) my Hennessy or Thermarest or even my Hammock… Full review

Hennessy Hammock Expedition Classic

Unique entry system introduces all sorts of challenges. I am 5'9" and 164 pounds. I am comfy. If you are any taller go for the Explorer or Safari  model instead of the Expedition.  The key here is getting the set up correct. This takes practice. Some hints - there are tiny holes in the hammock undercover (optional)  which guy lines go through. They are hard to see. One on each side. There are companies that make under quilts that match the asymmetric hammock body. Also Hennessy has an undercover… Full review

Equip Mosquito Hammock

Been sleeping in this hammock in three states, walked 500 miles, been through storms and abuse still going strong. This hammock is simply the best thing ever. Got in Illinois after my other brand failed at seams of net within 1 week of continuous use. Been in this EQUIP one for over 30 days every night sleeping in it. Goes to the beach during the days too. Hands down the best. Wish they had other colors in store. Full review

Warbonnet RidgeRunner

Great hammock if you are a small person. I like this hammock. I am 5'10" 168 pounds with broad shoulders. Lying on my back there is a slight shoulder squeeze. Not enough to bother me, but if I was any broader in my shoulders the shoulder squeeze would bug me. BTW, side sleeping is GREAT in this hammock. Love everything about this hammock although I wish there was a carbon fiber spreader bar option. You can get one of these for 130 dollars without bug net which IMHO is a heck of a deal. FYI I also… Full review

Eagles Nest Outfitters JungleNest

Perhaps the most rounded-out hammock with integrated bug netting currently available for jungle-style backpacking and camping. Easy, quick, and intuitive—especially when used in conjunction with ENO’s own Helios straps. Perfect setup takes less than a minute even in the dark, or with gloves in the cold. It’s also relatively lightweight, well designed and built. More importantly, it’s roomy and comfortable to lay, highly functional, and even has a few nice touches. Finally, it’s fairly… Full review

Hummingbird Hammocks Single+

I’ll go straight to the record and say I really like Hummingbird stuff. They have top-level, high-end equipment that caters to my lightweight style backpacking and camping activities. They also have top customer service, replacement parts aplenty, and all that for a reasonable price. Their gear is well designed and manufactured, with lots of attention to detail: I appreciate the flawless and consistent sewing, the original and simple solutions that just work well (e.g. the “soft link” plastic… Full review
